Australian Airconditioning & Mechanical Services is a respected Territory owned company that specialises in mechanical contracting, preventative maintenance and repairs to commercial / industrial refrigeration and airconditioning services.   We are seeking an experienced HR and WHS Manager to support the company and our employees.

 The role

In this role you will:

  • Manage the end to end recruitment process including onboarding and probation reviews;

  • Develop, implement, manage and monitor safety and human resource policies, procedures and work practices to comply with the relevant legislative and statutory requirements;

  • Develop and implement HR and WHS strategies as identified by the Management Team;

  • Manage human resource and safety issues when required, including performance management, EA interpretation and incident investigations;

  • Develop safety work method statements for construction projects;

  • Maintain AAMS Facebook and Website to promote the brand, achievements and vacant positions; and

  • Maintain and implement the work health and safety management plan.

 What you will need to succeed

  • Minimum Certificate IV in WHS and experience in all areas of safety management;

  • HR qualifications and/or demonstrated previous experience incorporating recruitment, performance management and training;

  • Working knowledge of Fair Work and WHS legislation and statutory requirements;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and objection handling with sound problem solving skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment;

  • Highly motivated and organised administrative qualities with excellent time management skills;

  • Strong attention to detail in HR and WHS compliance including inductions, licencing and maintenance of training and personnel documentation;  

  • Experience in Enterprise Agreement preparation and negotiations; and

  • Proven experience in safety management systems inclusive of auditing and outcome management.
